Taittinger Comtes de Champagne Blanc de Blancs 2013
– Grands Crus Champagne from Reims

Are you in search of an exclusive vintage Champagne that combines finesse, depth, and unforgettable elegance? Then look no further. Taittinger Comtes de Champagne 2013 Blanc de Blancs is one of the world’s most sought-after prestige cuvées, crafted exclusively from Chardonnay grapes sourced from the five highest-rated Grands Crus villages of the Côte des Blancs: Avize, Chouilly, Cramant, Oger, and Mesnil-sur-Oger. This Champagne is the epitome of elegance and timeless luxury – produced in very limited quantities and only in the best vintages. The year 2013 was exactly such a vintage – a cool, long ripening season with perfectly matured grapes, resulting in a wine of exceptional freshness, precision, and ageing potential.

Tasting Notes – Taittinger Comtes de Champagne 2013
Colour: Beautiful, crystal-clear golden hue with elegant, fine bubbles.
Nose: Delicate and complex bouquet with notes of white peach, lemon zest, toasted almonds, freshly baked brioche, and a subtle touch of vanilla and chalky minerality.

The Story Behind Taittinger – A Champagne House with Soul and History
The Taittinger Champagne house, founded in Reims and still family-owned, is built atop ancient Gallo-Roman chalk cellars, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. These historic caves beneath the former Saint-Nicaise abbey hill are still used today for the maturation of the house’s greatest cuvée – Comtes de Champagne.
The story of Comtes de Champagne dates back to the 16th century, where the legend of Thibaud IV le Chansonnier, the Count of Champagne and a poet, forms the romantic backdrop to this iconic wine. Since the first vintage in 1952, only 48 vintage editions of Comtes de Champagne have been produced – each with its own character, but all united in the uncompromising pursuit of perfection.

Pierre-Emmanuel Taittinger put it best:
“We only produce Comtes de Champagne in years when technical and natural conditions allow it. It is a wine that balances strength and grace – a wine with eternal youth.”
