This edition has been matured since 2017 in specially selected 140-liter casks, handcrafted from 30–40 year old Oloroso Sherry casks, carefully rebuilt and restored for this purpose. It’s a deliberate departure from Mosgaard’s more familiar quarter cask maturation – here, the goal is a deeper and more complex whisky developed over a longer time. The casks were initially stored in Mosgaard’s original and intimate warehouse in Southern Funen, and later made the journey to the distillery’s new location in Kolding in 2025. So this whisky hasn’t just matured – it has traveled with Mosgaard Whisky and carries the entire story of the distillery’s evolution within it.

A powerful and complex experience at 59.2% – Cask Strength
“7 Sisters 7 Years” is bottled straight from the cask without dilution. The high alcohol content of 59.2% gives the whisky an intense and almost balsamic-like depth, elegantly balanced by fruit acidity and an underlying mineral tone. This is a whisky that invites slow enjoyment – and is best appreciated by nosing it at least as long as tasting it.

Mosgaard Whisky – Danish whisky with international potential
Mosgaard Whisky was founded with a passion for craftsmanship, sustainability, and finesse – and has since its early days made a name as one of Denmark’s most ambitious and quality-focused whisky producers. The distillery works uncompromisingly with organic ingredients, small batch sizes, and custom-built casks. The first drops of whisky saw the light of day in 2019 – and even then, Oloroso Sherry casks played a leading role.

With the move to Kolding in 2025, Mosgaard has taken the next step in its development – but the soul and the flavor remain unchanged: softness, fruitiness, and malty sweetness in beautiful balance.
